San Francisco. Ongoing work with a data+AI startup studio, growing from meetup co-hosting into full conference production.

Trust with a client usually shows up in scope, not just in the size of any one event. I started co-hosting panel and meetup programming for a data+AI startup studio, a few hundred attendees across a couple of sessions bringing together founders, engineers, and operators in the Bay Area. That relationship has since grown into producing a full 2-day conference for them, launching in August.

What I did

Co-hosted and moderated two meetup/panel sessions on topics like the changing role of software engineering and building AI-native companies, working alongside the studio's team and partner Bay Area communities to program sessions people wanted to come back for.

That track record led directly to a bigger mandate: producing a 2-day conference for the studio, launching August 2026. Full case study coming once that event runs.

Why this one matters to me

This is what earning more scope actually looks like: start with a couple of sessions, prove the work is good, get handed the bigger thing. It's the throughline of how I like to work with clients, small trust first, then more.
